Study Designs

Health science researchers have long believed the randomized controlled trial (RCT) to be the “gold standard” of study designs. There are many reasons for their contention that an RCT should be preferred to any of the observational study designs. However, there are also instances in which employment of this design would be inappropriate.

Administration Policy: Genetic testing and Gene Therapy

•If genetic testing became widely available and most Americans were tested, should insurance providers be
given access to individual test results?
•Should individuals let genetic testing influence major life decisions?
•Should couples use genetic testing to determine their partners’ capacity for disease?
•Is gene therapy currently safe enough for use by the general public?
•When gene therapy becomes available, should it be affordable for the average consumer or reserved for those
who can afford it, like many other voluntary procedures?
•If money were no issue and you were given the option to undergo genetic testing and/or use gene therapy,
would you?

Disease process

Explain the pathophysiology and disease process to the cellular level of Diabetes mellitus (which is included in the endocrine system),and how they affect the cardiovascular system( focusing on congestive heart failure),renal system failure, respiratory system,(include chronic obstructive pulmonary disease),Integumentary system, Neurological system (example: depression) and how they effect each other to the cellular level.

Aboriginal peoples, American Indian, Indian, Indigenous Peoples, First Nations and Native America

Why are terms such as Aboriginal peoples, American Indian, Indian, Indigenous Peoples, First Nations and  Native American all used to describe the original inhabitants of North and South America?
