For the computer that you normally use, identify which pieces constitute the hardware and which pieces constitute the system software.

Your midterm exam and instructions are posted below. READ CAREFULLY: Please be sure your answers to the midterm reflect a rigorous examination of the topic of each question – this requires MORE than what I would expect in the weekly discussion forum answers. Your answers should be clear, thoughtful and thorough. As a point of reference for you, when I have taught this course in previous terms, the average length for a midterm grade of “A” was twelve pages. I expect a summary from different references that are in YOUR own words. Copy/paste or otherwise plagiarized work will receive a zero. For each question, please cite your references at the end of your answe

Directions:

THOROUGHLY answer each of the five (multi-part) questions below. Submit your answers to me as a Word document via the Midterm Exam link in the LEO classroom Your answers must be submitted to LEO by 11:59pm Sunday, Nov 6th, 2016. If you have difficulty submitting your midterm via LEO, email it to me immediately instead. Good luck!

B. Assume the following values in various registers and memory locations at a given point in time:

PC: 30 A: 100 Memory location 30: 160 [ADD 50] Memory location 50: 30.

Show the values that are stored in each of the following registers at the completion of the instruction: PC, MAR, MDR, IR, and A.

Question 5:

A. When a system has multiple levels of cache memory, L2 always has more memory than L1. Why is this necessary?

B. Explain what each of these systems are and describe in which situaitons each of these would be used:

Why is the Aldol condensation reaction so important in the field of organic chemistry?

Why is the Aldol condensation reaction so important in the field of organic chemistry?
The first step of the Aldol condensation reaction mechanism is formation of the enolate ion.
Will both acetophenone and 3-nitrobenzaldehyde form an enolate ion? Why or why not?
Show the mechanism for the formation of the enolate ion in this reaction system and show the resonance contributors of the enolate ion.
In the second step of the Aldol condensation reaction mechanism, the enolate acts as a nucleophile and adds to the carbonyl group.
Will the major product be the crossed-condensation or self-condensation product? 1 point
Explain why by considering the electron density of both reactants. Hint: Look at the electron density of the carbonyl carbons. Bonus question, 1 point
Microscale recrystallization is commonly used when you only have a small amount of sample and/or if you only need a small amount (like for a melting point). What are three advantages of doing microscale recrystallization over macroscale recrystallization. Note: We used a centrifuge tube instead of a Craig tube in this experiment
Write the experimental steps for a macroscale recrystallization (refer to Technique 11). Write the corresponding steps for the microscale recrystallization as performed during lab and indicate the general purpose of each step. Use a table similar to the one shown below to present your answer.

either civil procedure or criminal procedure to write your brief essay on.

either civil procedure or criminal procedure to write your brief essay on. Then, put yourself as one of the lawyers in a case and tell me which side you are on (which side you are writing for–i.e., either plaintiff or defendant in civil; either prosecutor or defendant in criminal). Here is the question: Do you want a bench trial or not? Why? What is a bench trial, how does it differ from the alternative, and why would you argue for or against having it in your case?
There is no right or wrong answer–some may prefer a bench trial, some not. The question is whether you can reflect on some of the dilemmas of having one or not; some of the advantages, some of the possible consequences.

Be sure to quote, cite, and reference from the text(s) using appropriate APA format. Your post must be at least 250 words.
