Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)

For your Final Paper, select one of the following disorders to investigate:

  1. Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
  2. Pathological Gambling
  3. Factitious Disorder by Proxy
  4. Substance Dependence
  5. Borderline Personality Disorder

Present a thorough overview of the chosen disorder.  Your audience has no prior knowledge of this disorder; therefore, be sure your explanations are relevant to your audience.  When writing your paper, it is critical that you convey all the necessary information in a straightforward manner using non-technical language.  Support your analysis with at least five scholarly, peer-reviewed sources (not including the course text) that were published within the last five years.  Your Final Paper must include the following:

  6. List five references (include both print and web-based sources) that would provide more information for individuals with this  disorder. Give the reference for the source as well as a two to three sentence description for each resource. This list of support resources will not count toward the required resources for your paper.
  7. Apply what you have learned throughout the course to your career (present and future).  What information have you found to be the most useful or relevant?

The paper must be eight to ten pages (excluding title and reference pages) and include a minimum of five scholarly, peer reviewed sources that were published within the last five years.

Nuclear medicine

Nuclear medicine is a specialized branch of modern medicine that exploits the process of radioactivity for imaging, diagnosis, and treatment. Many imaging techniques inject small amounts of radioactive material into the body, which are then tracked by a sensing device specific to the type of radiation emitted from that material. Radiation has also been used to destroy diseased tissue, typically beyond the reach of standard surgical techniques.

Using the readings for this module, the Argosy University online library resources, and the Internet, write a paper on nuclear medicine. Address the following:

  • Explain the scientific and technical concepts related to nuclear medicine. Consider the following questions when you construct your response:
    • What type of radiation is typically exploited in most nuclear medicine procedures?
    • How are patients prepared for nuclear medicine procedures?
    • What are the advantages and limitations of nuclear medicine?
    • What ailments are typically diagnosed and treated via nuclear medicine procedures?
  • Evaluate a minimum of three applications of nuclear medicine relating to any of the following topics:
    • Positron Emission Tomography (PET) scans
    • Gallium scans
    • Indium white blood cell scans
    • Iobenguane scans (MIBG)
    • Octreotide scans
    • Hybrid scanning techniques employing X-ray computed tomography (CT) or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)
    • Nuclear medicine therapy using radiopharmaceuticals

Support your statements with examples. Provide a minimum of three scholarly references.

Write a 2-page paper in Word format. Apply APA standards to citation of sources.

(Based on Plug-In T5, Making Business Decisions #4, Page 272)

AT THE END OF THIS DOUCUMENT

On-the-Vine Vineyard, Inc., is a small, family-owned winery, one of California’s largest in Sonoma Valley, specializing in limited production of premium quality wine.

The Employees: On-the-Vine currently employs over 12 full-time employees, with positions ranging from administrative assistant to winemaker. Each employee is assigned a unique identification number. In addition to the employee’s name, position, and identification number, the company also records each employee’s Social Security number, address, phone number, and emergency contact.

The Vineyards: On-the-Vine owns several vineyards, each in separate locations. Each vineyard is managed by a single employee and represented by unique number, name, address, and size. No employee manages more than one vineyard.

The Wine: Each bottle of wine produced is given a unique identification number in addition to its name. Other information recorded for each wine includes its vintage year, category (e.g., dry red, dessert, etc.), vineyard where the wine is produced, price, and percent alcohol. Also recorded is the winemaker (employee) in charge of making that bottle of wine. A winemaker may be responsible for producing more than one bottle of wine.

The Customers: On-the-Vine sells its wine to individuals via the Internet. All customers are assigned a unique customer identification number, and this number is recorded along with their first name, last name, address, phone number, and date of birth.

The Orders: All customers obtain their products by placing orders directly with On-the-Vine. A customer can purchase more than one bottle of wine at one order. Each order is assigned a unique order number, and the date of order, the date of shipping, and the shipping status are recorded as well.

GOVERNMENT FORMATION

Suddenly, a storm hits and the entire ship is irreparably damaged and all of the passengers and crew are stranded on a deserted island.

Fortunately, there is enough food, water and shelter for the shipwrecked passengers.  No one was injured or killed.

However, after thoroughly assessing the situation there is little hope of rescue.

After a while, a group has been selected to form “some sort of government” while stranded on the island.  You have been asked to join this group.

  • Write a 2-3 page, APA style paper,  attempting to persuade the group what form of government you would choose and why.  Include any opposing position along with your rebuttal of that opposing position. Use at least three sources to support your position.
  • For instance you may write a paper explaining that the type of government selected is a democracy (and why) and the opposition would be those that disapprove of democracies (and why).
  • Include a title page and 3-5 references.  Only one of your references may be found online (not Wikipedia).  The other references must be found in the Grantham University online library.  Please see the rubric below.

International Business

Using the country of France, complete the following:

Conduct some research to determine the current state of the macro-environmental influences that might impact the ability of business in that nation. Consider items such as transportation systems, cultural differences (between the US & France), availability of trained workforces, pollutants, political upheaval, rule of law (or lack thereof), terrain, availability of Internet and other communication technologies, security of data and information, perspectives on contracts, labor relations, work hours, etc.

Ensure that you have sufficiently uncovered enough of a picture of what it would be like to conduct business within that nation as possible.

Usie this research to create a table in MS Word hat includes the current state of the following areas of influence:

  • Political
  • Socio-Cultural
  • Economic
  • Geographic
  • Technology
  • Legal/Regulatory

Only use web-accessible links as your sources – Do not use anything in print or audio!  Plagarism of any sort will not be accepted.

I have included a Word document with a few tidbits and links for information on International Business for you to use as needed.

Please let me know ASAP if you have trouble with this assignment. Depending on how well this is completed, I may offer the teacher the continuation of this project (4-5 more assignments!)
