Identifying these key transition points is important as you develop programs for your local community. Can you think of a time when a prevention program may reach students before they engage in dangerous behaviors? Perhaps before prom? Or graduation?

How Mike Gimble Used the NIDA Prevention Principles
The NIDA prevention principles provide a number of principles that the educators, community leaders and parents can use in preventing drug abuse (National Institute on Drug Abuse, 2003).
