Introduction
An environmental scan involves considering the factors that will influence the direction and goals. It includes both present and future factors that might affect a person or the organization since we are planning for not only the present but the future(Chrusciel, 2011). In order to do this, we must complete an internal environmental scan as well as an external environmental scan.
Internal Factors
In order for me to climb the corporate ladder there are some specific things that I need in order to achieve my goals. In the HR field it is very hard to do especially if you do not have a degree. I need to complete my courses and obtain the bachelor’s degree that I am working toward. I will need to continue to work on the delivery on how I say things to others in a more professional manner and show confidence when I am talking to others(Mitchell, et al., 2018). I will then need to continue to use my connections within the industry to mentor and offer direction in employment law.
An HR Director must have the ability to influence and guide others. In order to do this the Director must have the trust from the employees and upper management. I will be aiding is the success of my company if I can complete these factors. I must also always remain trusted by all employees, co-workers, and manager. As a Director of HR, I must be knowledgeable of the type of product that our company is working with and how I can be a useful tool to the company to acquire the talent and skills needed to fulfill positions(Marroni & Raquel, 2017). I also must be available to solve all types of HR related issues and complete more complex tasks that are more detailed and larger than I am currently handling.
External Factors The role of an HR Director is extremely important to any organization.
