TO BE RE-WRITTEN FROM THE SCRATCH
My visit to the Metropolitan Museum of New Yolk was very informative and entertainment. Through this visit I was able to see a wide range of artwork that exemplifies the history of different parts of the world. The artwork presented in the Museum included sculptures, paintings carvings and portraits. This piece of art at the museum exhibited the history as well as cultural and artistic heritage of different parts of the world ranging from Egyptian art, European to American art and culture. The Museum contained an extensive exhibition of Asian, Indian and African artwork and hence depicts a global outlook of the global artistic and cultural heritage. Moreover, the museum exhibited musical instrumental and their related costumes as well as weapons used in different parts of the world during the ancient times. The notable artworks that I sampled in the museum include standing woman portrait by Gaston Lachaise, Ensemble by Emanuel Ungaro and the Annunciation Triptych Merode Altarpiece by Robert Campin. The three artworks were very informative and exemplary in communicating the historic and cultural message to the audience.
The standing woman portrait is the portrait of a woman standing on her heels. The Woman has raised her legs in a way that makes her appear taller than she actually is. Her hands are slightly lifted while her eyes are closed. Her head stands out tall and elegant. The artist presents the picture of an elegant woman with a shining face.
This portrait is interesting for several reasons. To begin with, the portrait exemplifies the modern woman who seeks to be identified and respected in the contemporary society. It shows a woman who seeks to overcome the limitations that face most women in the society and rise from such difficulties in a way that helps her stand out as an equal to the members of the opposite sex. Therefore, the author communicates the message of the feminist and the rights women that had become so profound in the 1930s. During this time the women started fighting for equal rights. The feminists of the time advocated for gender equality and affirmative action. The women began to stand up for their rights and condemn retrogressive cultures that oppressed women. Therefore, this portrait takes the audience to history and exemplifies the beginning of the gender revolution that saw women stand for their rights and compete equally on the same platform with their male counterparts. The portrait is interesting because it depicts a beautiful piece of art that is appealing and entertaining. It depicts the reality and physic of a beautiful woman. The beauty of the woman portrayed makes the portrait to be more interesting.
The most interesting aspect of Gaston Lachaise is his consistency in sculptures as a form of artwork in communicating important information. Through the use of sculptures, the artist has preserved significant cultural heritage and documented significant ……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..
