The idea of leadership may seem synonymous to management to many people. The initial thoughts regarding leadership elicited the idea of management, with little idea that the two concepts were different. The course has clearly illustrated the organizational leadership styles, while creating a distinction between organizational leadership and management. During the commencement of the course, an overview of the organizational leadership styles and their historical developments was provided. The introduction was invaluable in the development of a good understanding of the gradual shift from the trait leadership to the contemporary leadership models such as servant, transactional and transformational leadership models.
