Many still count on Abraham Lincoln as the greatest emancipator in the United States history. The president of America fought American civil war between 1861 and 1865 in order to free slaves from slavery (Morgan, 2013). He is regarded as a great freedom fighter who championed for equality and protection of human rights. The civil war that was fought in the United States between the North and the South was fought behind many reasons. Some people still argue that the major cause was tariffs, slavery and states’ rights and taxes. However, despite all the other reasons, it can be concluded that the American civil war was necessary, as it was the major step towards the abolition of slavery and slave trade.
The Reasons Why United States Should Be Vindicated For Fighting Civil War
In self-delusions, some southern states justify the civil war as a cause that was fought for their confederate state rights. However, that cannot be the case since if at all any achievement that was attained by the American state, it can be counted as a collective heritage from both the North and the South.
