Then, identify at least three standardized rapid assessment instruments that you believe would effectively supplement a biopsychosocial assessment. Prepare a proposal for these instruments and be sure to address the following:

  • Identify your focus topic and the behavioral health issue you are choosing for this assignment.
  • Describe each standardized rapid assessment instrument, and then indicate who created each one. Offer proof that each one is evidence-based.
  • Determine how each tool would be applied in a clinical setting. Justify the use of each tool, in addition to the standard biopsychosocial assessment.
  • Provide a PDF copy of each assessment instrument.

Support your assignment with at least three scholarly resources. In addition to these specified resources, other appropriate scholarly resources, including seminal articles, may be included.

Geometric constructions date back thousands of years to when Euclid

Geometric Constructions

Geometric constructions date back thousands of years to when Euclid, aGreek mathematician known as the “Father of Geometry,” wrote the book Elements. In Elements, Euclid formulated the five postulates that form the base for Euclidean geometry. To create all the figures and diagrams, Euclid used construction techniques extensively. A compass and straightedge are used to create constructions. A compass is used to draw circles or arcs and a straightedge is used to draw straight lines.

As you complete the task, keep these questions in mind:

How do you perform constructions related to circles? What theorems and explanations can be used to justify these constructions?

In this task, you will apply what you have learned in this lesson to answer these questions.

Directions

Complete each of the following tasks, reading the directions carefully as you go. Be sure to show all work where indicated, including inserting images of constructions created using the tool. If you are unable to take and insert screenshots of the construction tool, print this activity sheet and create the constructions by hand using a compass and straightedge.

In addition to the answers you determine, you will be graded based on the work you show, or your solution process. So, be sure to show all your work and answer each question as you complete the task. Type all your work into this document so you can submit it to your teacher for a grade. You will be given partial credit based on the work you show and the completeness and accuracy of your explanations.

Your teacher will give you further directions about how to submit your work. You may be asked to upload the document, e-mail it to your teacher, or print it and hand in a hard copy.

Now, let’s get started!

Step 1: Construct a circle through three points not on a line.

a) Points D, E, and F are not in a line. To construct a circle through points D, E, and F, begin by drawing line segments                     and   . Then construct the perpendicular bisectors of    and   , and name the point of intersection of the perpendicular bisectors O. How do you know that point O is the center of the circle that passes through the three points? (10 points)

Step 2: Construct regular polygons inscribed in a circle.

a) While constructing an equilateral triangle or a regular hexagon inscribed in a circle, you may have noticed that several smaller equilateral triangles are formed, like rPQR shown in the figure below. Explain why rPQR is an equilateral triangle. (5 points)

b) The completed construction of a regular hexagon is shown below. Explain why rACF is a 30º-60º-90º triangle.(10 points)

c) If you are given a circle with center C, how do you locate the vertices of a square inscribed in circle C? (5 points)

Step 3: Construct tangent lines to a circle.

a)  JL is a diameter of circle K. If tangents to circle K are constructed through points L and J, what relationship would exist between the two tangents? Explain. (5 points)

b) The construction of a tangent to a circle given a point outside the circle can be justified using the second corollary to the inscribed angle theorem. An alternative proof of this construction is shown below. Complete the proof. (5 points)

Current Events in Macroeconomics – GDP and CPI

Topic: Current Events in Macroeconomics – GDP and CPI

Macroeconomics is much more than just what you read in a textbook. It is what happens every day, the sum of everything that affects the well-being of all. In fact, macroeconomics affects everyone throughout the country and the world.

Choose one of the two options below and pay particular attention to any discussion relating to the macroeconomics concepts addressed in the current unit. After listening or reading, answer the following questions:

1. What important new things did you learn?

2. Did the topics discussed in the article or podcast relate to your personal experience in any way? If so, how? If not, how do you believe it could?

3. How does this new knowledge relate to the concepts being explored in this unit and how they impact the entire economy?

4. Based on what you learned, what action(s), if any, do you think the government, or society, should take?

Option 1: Podcast

Choose any podcast related to the macroeconomics concepts addressed in the current unit, then choose a specific current episode of that podcast. Examples of acceptable economic-oriented podcasts include:

· NPR’s Marketplace

· NPR’s Planet Money

· Bloomberg’s Stephanomics

· The New Economics Foundation’s Weekly Economics

If you are unfamiliar with podcasts, use any of the above options or just search for economics podcasts. You may also use TED Talks about economic issues.

Option 2: Magazine or Newspaper Article

Using the  Library’s Publication Finder  tab, search for a magazine or newspaper that publishes economic-related content. Select a current article related to at least one of the macroeconomics concepts addressed in the current unit.

Examples of magazines and newspapers publishing economic-related content include:

· The Economist

· Harvard Business Review

· New York Times

· Wall Street Journal

Checklist:

· Summarize your chosen podcast or article.

· Identify at least three things from the podcast or article that you believe are relevant to current macroeconomic policy.

· Add YOUR personal comments and experiences.

· Cite your podcast or article in APA format. Podcast references are covered in the Writing Center’s page on  Common Citations and References in APA Style (7th Ed.) , under “Audio Works.” Click the Library link under the Academic Tools section of this course to review APA style in the Business Resource Guide, as needed.

the general context or setting. It is also helpful to include a summary of how this document is

organized

Chapter 1- Introduction (3 – 4 pages)

In this section, present enough information about the proposed work so that the reader understands

the general context or setting. It is also helpful to include a summary of how this document is

organized.

In the research report, each chapter should begin on a new page

Introduction

This section introduces the reader to the structural content of your Research Report.

Problem Statement and Purpose of Research

In this section, present a concise statement of a research-worthy problem to be addressed (i.e., why

the work should be undertaken – don’t state “it was a requirement of the professor”). Follow the

statement of the problem with a well-supported discussion of its scope and nature. The discussion

of the problem should include: what the problem is, why it is a problem, how the problem evolved

or developed, and the issues and events leading to the problem. Your problem statement must be

clear, concise, to the point and able to be articulated in no more than three sentences.

Chapter 2 – Review of the Literature (6-8 pages)

In this section, it is important to clearly identify the major areas on which you will need to focus

your research in order to build a solid foundation for your study in the existing body of

knowledge. This section requires that you review at least 5 peer-reviewed literature sources to

be used in the research.

The literature review is the presentation of quality literature in a particular field that serves as the

foundation and justification for the research problem, research questions or hypothesis, and

methodology. You will develop a more comprehensive review of the literature as part of your

report.

For each of the 5 articles, write a paragraph each for the following sections

The following topics are intended to serve as a guide:

 Description of the research including who the target population was (if available)

 Research Method used to conduct the research (describe what the researcher(s) did to

gather data for the research)

o Was survey distributed? How many questions? How many participants?

o Was it a focus group? Was it a case study? Be explicit

 Findings: Indicate the findings as reported in the article

 Conclusion: What was the conclusion of the research

Chapter 3 – Research Methodology (3 – 4 pages)

This section is the core of your research. You are required to describe how to the research problem

will be addressed and the stated research goal will be accomplished. Based on the literature,

elaborate on the major steps that must be taken to accomplish the goal and include a preliminary

discussion of the methodology and specific research methods you plan to implement. Provide

adequate discussion of the general process you will follow to implement your research

methodology.

Chapter 4: Findings, Analysis, and Summary of Results (2 – 4 pages)

Chapter 4 includes an objective description and analysis of the findings, results or outcomes of the

research. Limit the use of charts, tables, figures to those that are needed to support the narrative.

Most of these illustrations can be included as part of the Appendixes.

The following topics are intended to serve as a guide:

 Data analysis

 Findings & discussion

 Analysis

 Summary of results & discussion

Chapter 5: Conclusions (2 – 4 pages)

 Conclusions – Clearly state the conclusions of the study based on the analysis performed and

results achieved. Indicate by the evidence or logical development the extent to which the

specified objectives have been accomplished. If the research has been guided by hypotheses,

make a statement as to whether the data supported or rejected these hypotheses. Discuss

alternative explanations for the findings, if appropriate. Delineate strengths, weaknesses, and

limitations of the study.

 Implications – Discuss the impact of the work on the field of study and its contributions to

References

Follow the most current version of APA to format your references. However, each reference should

be single-spaced with a double space between each cited entry. Make sure that every citation is

referenced and every reference is cited.

Research Report Structure

 White space added to the report will negatively affect the final grade of your report. Do not add

extra space to your document in an effort to extend the page count.

 Times New Roman Font style should be used throughout the paper

 Font color should be black throughout the paper
