Company Profile

The Education Community Services Group (ECSG) has been leading the market in educational services enrollments the past five years. After reviewing proper data and statistics, the company needs to address issues in its response for better future requirements of the business. When the chief executive officer (CEO) noticed that something had to be done to respond to the competition from online and traditional campus-based education, he and the rest of the management team decided to instill confidence by transforming the current network administration architecture and information technology (IT) infrastructure to create a better network infrastructure and educational offerings. Revamping the IT network administration architecture is an important infrastructure improvement, and it will help transition an adequate network administration capability to the very latest-state-of-the-art technology standard.

Architecture Evaluation (Week 1)

Evaluate the current network administration architecture (NAA) for Education Community Services Group (ECSG). Develop a course of action based on the resources that NAA supports and are used at ECSG. As a consulting company, you need to discuss how you will automate the company as well as revamp its enterprise network administration architecture. Identify positive and negative aspects of the selected model in relation to the operational health of an organization. Further interviews, observation, visiting sites, questionnaires, or surveys may be needed as fact- finding analysis that will help in the NAA evaluation stage. After fact-finding is complete, the course of action is designed. Once the design is reported to ECSG, then other things such as price and charge or quotations should be set.

The network administration architecture has to be evaluated and then demonstrate the availability of a suitable network administration architecture. The company can outsource, design from scratch, buy already existing network hardware and software and configure it, or buy hardware and software off the shelf. The network administration architecture will run on the listed and needed hardware and software discussed the in the next section.

A city’s administration isn’t driven by the goal of maximizing revenues

This assignment illustrates how data analytics can be used to create strategies for sustainable organizational success while integrating the organization’s mission with societal values. You’ll apply statistical time series modeling techniques to identify patterns and develop time-dependent demand models. You’ll practice organizing and delivering a presentation to senior decision-makers. The PowerPoint presentation includes an audio component in addition to speaker notes.

Resource: Microsoft Excel, DAT565_v3_Wk6_Data_File

Scenario: A city’s administration isn’t driven by the goal of maximizing revenues or profits but instead looks at improving the quality of life of its residents. Many American cities are confronted with high traffic and congestion. Finding parking spaces, whether in the street or a parking lot, can be time-consuming and contribute to congestion. Some cities have rolled out data-driven parking space management to reduce congestion and make traffic more fluid.

You’re a data analyst working for a mid-size city that has anticipated significant increments in population and car traffic. The city is evaluating whether it makes sense to invest in infrastructure to count and report the number of parking spaces available at the different parking lots downtown. This data would be collected and processed in real-time, feeding an app that motorists can access to find parking space availability in different parking lots throughout the city.

Instructions: Work with the provided Excel database. This database has the following columns:

  • LotCode: A unique code that identifies the parking lot
  • LotCapacity: A number with the respective parking lot capacity
  • LotOccupancy: A number with the current number of cars in the parking lot
  • TimeStamp: A day/time combination indicating the moment when occupancy was measured
  • Day: The day of the week corresponding to the TimeStamp
  • Insert a new column, OccupancyRate, recording occupancy rate as a percentage with one decimal. For instance, if the current LotOccupancy is 61 and LotCapacity is 577, then the OccupancyRate would be reported as 10.6 (or 10.6%).
  • Using the OccupancyRate and Day columns, construct box plots for each day of the week. You can use Insert > Insert Statistic Chart >Box and Whisker for this purpose. Is the median occupancy rate approximately the same throughout the week? If not, which days have lower median occupancy rates? Which days have higher median occupancy rates? Is this what you expected?
  • Using the OccupancyRate and LotCode columns, construct box plots for each parking lot. You can use Insert > Insert Statistic Chart >Box and Whisker for this purpose. Do all parking lots experience approximately equal occupancy rates? Are some parking lots more frequented than others? Is this what you expected?
  • Select any 2 parking lots. For each one, prepare a scatter plot showing the occupancy rate against TimeStamp for the week 11/20/2016 –11/26/2016. Are occupancy rates time-dependent? If so, which times seem to experience the highest occupancy rates? Is this what you expected?

Presentation:

Create a 10- to 12-slide presentation with speaker notes and audio. Your audience is the City Council members who are responsible for deciding whether the city invests in resources to set in motion the smart parking space app.

Complete the following in your presentation:

  • Outline the rationale and goals of the project.
  • Utilize boxplots showing the occupancy rates for each day of the week. Include your interpretation of the results.
  • Utilize box plots showing the occupancy rates for each parking lot. Include your interpretation of the results.
  • Provide scatter plots showing occupancy rate against the time of day of your selected four parking lots. Include your interpretation of the results.
  • Make a recommendation about continuing with the implementation of this project.

Submit your assignment.

hypothetical in-service session related to the safe medication administration improvement plan

For this assessment, you will develop a 10 slide PowerPoint presentation with thorough speaker’s notes designed for a hypothetical in-service session related to the safe medication administration improvement plan you developed in Assessment 2.

As a practicing professional, you are likely to present educational in-services or training to staff pertaining to quality improvement (QI) measures of safety improvement interventions. Such in-services and training sessions should be presented in a creative and innovative manner to hold the audience’s attention and promote knowledge acquisition and skill application that changes practice for the better. The teaching sessions may include a presentation, audience participation via simulation or other interactive strategy, audiovisual media, and participant learning evaluation.

The use of in-services and/or training sessions has positive implications for nursing practice by increasing staff confidence when providing care to specific patient populations. It also allows for a safe and nonthreatening environment where staff nurses can practice their skills prior to a real patient event. Participation in learning sessions fosters a team approach, collaboration, patient safety, and greater patient satisfaction rates in the health care environment (Patel & Wright, 2018).

As you prepare to complete the assessment, consider the impact of in-service training on patient outcomes as well as practice outcomes for staff nurses. Be sure to support your thoughts on the effectiveness of educating and training staff to increase the quality of care provided to patients by examining the literature and established best practices.

You are encouraged to explore the AONE Nurse Executive Competencies Review activity before you develop the Improvement Plan In-Service Presentation. This activity will help you review your understanding of the AONE Nurse Executive Competencies—especially those related to competencies relevant to developing an effective training session and presentation. This is for your own practice and self-assessment, and demonstrates your engagement in the course.

Demonstration of Proficiency

By successfully completing this assessment, you will demonstrate your proficiency in the following course competencies and assessment criteria:

· Competency 1: Analyze the elements of a successful quality improvement initiative.

. Explain the need and process to improve safety outcomes related to medication administration.

. Create resources or activities to encourage skill development and process understanding related to a safety improvement initiative on medication administration.

· Competency 4: Explain the nurse’s role in coordinating care to enhance quality and reduce costs.

. List clearly the purpose and goals of an in-service session focusing on safe medication administration for nurses.

. Explain audience’s role in and importance of making the improvement plan focusing on medication administration successful.

· Competency 5: Apply professional, scholarly, evidence-based strategies to communicate in a manner that supports safe and effective patient care.

. Slides are easy to read and error free. Detailed speaker notes are provided. Speaker notes are clear, organized, and professionally presented.

. Organize content with clear purpose or goals and with relevant and evidence-based sources (published within 5 years).

Patel, S., & Wright, M. (2018). Development of interprofessional simulation in nursing education to improve teamwork and collaboration in maternal child nursing. Journal of Obstetric, Gynecologic & Neonatal Nursing, 47(3), s16–s17.

Professional Context

As a baccalaureate-prepared nurse, you will often find yourself in a position to lead and educate other nurses. This colleague-to-colleague education can take many forms, from mentoring to informal explanations on best practices to formal in-service training. In-services are an effective way to train a large group. Preparing to run an in-service may be daunting, as the facilitator must develop his or her message around the topic while designing activities to help the target audience learn and practice. By improving understanding and competence around designing and delivering in-service training, a BSN practitioner can demonstrate leadership and prove him- or herself a valuable resource to others.

Scenario

For this assessment it is suggested you take one of two approaches:

1. Build on the work that you have done in your first two assessments and create an agenda and PowerPoint of an educational in-service session that would help a specific staff audience learn, provide feedback, and understand their roles and practice new skills related to your safety improvement plan pertaining to medication administration, or

2. Locate a safety improvement plan through an external resource and create an agenda and PowerPoint of an educational in-service session that would help a specific staff audience learn, provide feedback, and understand their roles and practice new skills related to the issues and improvement goals pertaining to medication administration safety.

Instructions

The final deliverable for this assessment will be a PowerPoint presentation with detailed presenter’s notes representing the material you would deliver at an in-service session to raise awareness of your chosen safety improvement initiative focusing on medication administration and to explain the need for it. Additionally, you must educate the audience as to their role and importance to the success of the initiative. This includes providing examples and practice opportunities to test out new ideas or practices related to the safety improvement initiative.

Be sure that your presentation addresses the following, which corresponds to the grading criteria in the scoring guide. Please study the scoring guide carefully so you understand what is needed for a distinguished score.

· List the purpose and goals of an in-service session focusing on safe medication administration for nurses.

· Explain the need for and process to improve safety outcomes related to medication administration.

· Explain to the audience their role and importance of making the improvement plan focusing on medication administration successful.

· Create resources or activities to encourage skill development and process understanding related to a safety improvement initiative on medication administration.

· Communicate with nurses in a respectful and informative way that clearly presents expectations and solicits feedback on communication strategies for future improvement.

There are various ways to structure an in-service session; below is just one example:

· Part 1: Agenda and Outcomes.

. Explain to your audience what they are going to learn or do, and what they are expected to take away.

· Part 2: Safety Improvement Plan.

. Give an overview of the current problem focusing on medication administration, the proposed plan, and what the improvement plan is trying to address.

. Explain why it is important for the organization to address the current situation.

· Part 3: Audience’s Role and Importance.

. Discuss how the staff audience will be expected to help implement and drive the improvement plan.

. Explain why they are critical to the success of the improvement plan focusing on medication administration.

. Describe how their work could benefit from embracing their role in the plan.

· Part 4: New Process and Skills Practice.

. Explain new processes or skills.

. Develop an activity that allows the staff audience to practice and ask questions about these new processes and skills.

. In the notes section of your PowerPoint, brainstorm potential responses to likely questions or concerns.

· Part 5: Soliciting Feedback.

. Describe how you would solicit feedback from the audience on the improvement plan and the in-service.

. Explain how you might integrate this feedback for future improvements.

Remember to account for activity and discussion time.

For tips on developing PowerPoint presentations, refer to:

· Capella University Library: PowerPoint Presentations.

· Guidelines for Effective PowerPoint Presentations [PPTX].

Additional Requirements

· Presentation length: There is no required length; use just enough slides to address all the necessary elements. Remember to use short, concise bullet points on the slides and expand on your points in the presenter’s notes. If you use 2 or 3 slides to address each of the parts in the above example, your presentation would be 10–15 slides.

· Speaker notes: Speaker notes should reflect what you would actually say if you were delivering the presentation to an audience. Another presenter would be able to use the presentation by following the speaker notes.

· APA format: Use APA formatting for in-text citations. Include an APA-formatted reference slide at the end of your presentation.

· Number of references: Cite a minimum of 3 sources of scholarly or professional evidence to support your assertions. Resources should be no more than 5 years old

Legal Aspects of U.S. Health Care System Administration

Assignment: Legal Aspects of U.S. Health Care System Administration Worth 100 points Prevailing wisdom reinforces the fact that working in U.S. health care administration in the 21st Century requires knowledge of the various aspects of health laws as they apply to dealing with medical professionals. Further, because U.S. health care administrators have to potentially interact with many levels of professionals beyond the medical profession, it is prudent that they are aware of any federal, state, and local laws that may be applicable to their organizations. Thus, their conduct is also subject to the letter of the law. They must evaluate the quality of their professional interactions and be mindful of the implications and ramifications of their decisions. You are employed as a top health administrator at the hypothetical Well Care Hospital in Happy Town. When you were hired, your pre-employment screening involved background checks into any violation of hospital medical misconduct during the last five (5) years. The results showed that you were in good standing with the hospital administration community. During the past year, you had to undergo training in personnel conduct, as well as in inter-employee conduct with medical staff, nurses, technologists, etc. During the past six (6) months, the hospital has been under scrutiny for breach of medical compliance. Note: You may create and / or make all necessary assumptions needed for the completion of this assignment. Write a three to four (3-4) page paper in which you: Articulate your position as the top administrator concerned about the importance of professional conduct within the health care setting. Justify your position. Ascertain the major ramifications of having professional staff compromise the boundaries of ethics and medical conduct. Analyze the four (4) elements required of a plaintiff to prove medical negligence. Discuss the overarching duties of the health care governing board in mitigating the effects of medical non-compliance, as they apply to the rules of practice set forth in the Well Care Hospital governing board’s manifesto. Use at least five (5) quality academic resources in this assignment. Note: Wikipedia and other Websites do not quality as academic resources. Your assignment must follow these formatting requirements: Be typed, double spaced, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with one-inch margins on all sides; citations and references must follow APA or school-specific format. Check with your professor for any additional instructions. Include a cover page containing the title of the assignment, the student’s name, the professor’s name, the course title, and the date. The cover page and the reference page are not included in the required assignment page length. Introduction

How can addiction counselors help make the general community in which they work aware of the risks associated with drug and alcohol abuse?

By understanding drug abuse behaviors and the common elements found in research on effective prevention programs, drug and alcohol counselors can appropriately enhance protective factors and reduce risk factors in their community (National Institute on Drug Abuse, 2003).

This week, you will focus on evaluating multiculturalism and diversity in frameworks for prevention program development. You will also apply prevention principles to an addiction program.

The Program for Prevention Program Development that Effectively Addresses Multiculturalism and Diversity

The effective prevention of drug abuse in the community can be achieved through effective prevention programs that take into consideration the diversity and multiculturalism among the community members. Drug abuse affects people across ages and cultures. Therefore, between NIDA and SAMHSA, the NIDA program offers and effective program for prevention of drug abuse in the community level.

The NIDA program is comprehensive, detailing the risk factors across the different age groups and cultures. For example, in its prevention principles, NIDA identifies the risk and protective factors among the people of different gender, ages and ethnicity (National Institute on Drug Abuse, 2003, p. 6). In its first principle of prevention, the author discusses the risk factors at family and individual levels, while highlighting the same at school and college levels.           Although the SAHHSA program focuses on the multiculturalism and diversity (Substance Abuse and Mental Health Service Administration…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….
