This type of scientific research is seen as a tool of enhancing transparency and efficiency in research work. Despite this imposition, the achievement of data sharing within the United States seems far from being realized. There are several factors that form a hurdle for the realization of data sharing particularly in the context of the United States. From a technical perspective, lack of tools and recourses to facilitate data sharing has been a major hindrance to the realization of data sharing.
