The primary goal of the Learning and Cognition Handbook assignment is to integrate concepts from the discipline of learning and cognitive psychology into a usable and professional guide that is designed for a specific audience based on your career goals. The purpose of this handbook is to share helpful strategies and apply what you have learned from the course to six major topics in the field. You will incorporate your findings from required sources and the relevant sources you researched in the Week 2 Discipline-Based Literature Review, as well as those from the Week 3 Assignment: Choosing Your Focus.
To complete this assignment, you may utilize the Learning and Cognition Handbook templatePreview the document or create your own using the template as a guide. Your handbook should include the sections listed below, incorporating a minimum of one visual (e.g., table, figure, or image (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site.) with a maximum of five visuals per section. Each image must be retrieved and cited based on current copyright laws. You may wish to use the Where to Get Free ImagesPreview the document guide for assistance with accessing freely available public domain and/or Creative Commons licensed images.
Handbook Sections:
Table of Contents List all sections and subsections included in the handbook with the applicable page numbers.
Preface (100 to 150 words) Provide an overview of the handbook and its potential use by your chosen audience.
Introduction to the Major Topics (200 to 300 words) Provide an introductory summary of the six topics listed below and discuss any careers in psychology specifically related to at least one of them:
Traditional learning theories: Operant and classical conditioning Traditional learning theories: Behaviorism and social learning theory Attention and memory Decision-Making Language acquisition Organizational and lifelong learning Describe how one or more of these areas may be connected to your future career goals.
Major Topics (1 to 2 pages for each major topic) Communicate the extent to which the six major topics of learning and cognition affect related sub-topics by synthesizing the course learning principles and/or theories. Consider how these sub-topics may be related to your future career goals. For instance, if you intend to become an applied behavior analyst, behaviorism and related technique for learning may be directly connected to your future role. For each major topic, apply basic research methods and skeptical inquiry to explain the theoretical perspectives and empirical research that substantiate the relationship between the topic and at least two related sub-topics. In your review, consider how these topic and sub-topics are directly connected to evaluations and interventions in psychology practice in various fields. Focus on the areas most related to your future area of practice, paying particular attention to how theories are examined in research studies. The following are some sub-topics to consider:
Comprehension Operant and classical conditioning Behaviorism Social learning theory Problem solving Memory development/retention Lifelong learning Individual and group learning Organizational learning Mentorship Apprenticeship models of learning Effects of demographic differences (e.g., gender, socioeconomics, religious affiliation, race) on learning Although creative liberties are encouraged, all information incorporated should be supported and professionally presented through the consistent application of ethical principles and adherence to professional standards of learning and cognition psychology as applied to the chosen audience.
Conclusion (200 to 300 words) Summarize the importance of the topics within the learning and cognition domain and their applicability within the psychology profession for the chosen audience.

Since my childhood days, I had always been keen on many issues that are going around my vicinity. This made me love listening to the elderly, educative programs being aired by national television and generally, I loved listening to wise counsel from preachers, psychologists, and my parents. This has made me instrumental to my peers as I have always been sought after to give counsel to my classmates and it was the primary drive in my career choice. As I grew older, I have developed the art of helping the people that are stressed from different avenues like jobs, marriages, relationships and those that are undergoing different addictions. Therefore, I made it my choice to be a social worker and more specifically a counseling psychologist.
I am composing this handbook for talking about assisting people from stress-related avenues to get back into their lives track. I have learned and seen many people being unable to control their situations culminating to suicide and other horrible acts; these individuals could not have reached those levels in case they encountered a counseling psychologist to assist them. My peers, parents and fellow students are always happy when we interact, and I assist them in digesting life situations, and this makes me feel honored and happy fulfilling my dreams.
Introduction
Psychology is generally the study that is concerned about the human brain, its interactions, and the results of these contemplations. It specifically tries to answer questions on why people respond the way they react to a particular situation or responses to different stimuli. In this handbook, it will focus on six different theories that explain ways that people with different stress responds and the need for fixing their ways of thinking to fix this cycle before it comes down to them generally being incarcerated.
Initially, it will tackle operant and classical conditioning which answers the “what” and “why” people indulge in anything (Aranda, Arellano, & Davila, 2017). It modifies an individual’s behaviors by the use of positive and negative reinforcements. It is mostly a reward system where people associate consequence with behavior. Classical conditioning delves into an individual learning a new way of living (behavior) through the process of association.
In this instance, it pertains two different stimuli being…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………. …………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………. integrate concepts from the discipline of learning and cognitive psychology into a usable
Write a report which analyses a process and provides recommendations on how the process can be improved. The process you choose to write about can be a process in your own organisation or in any organisation that you are familiar with. Once you have chosen the process, use some of the concepts and tools of Process Design and Analysis to examine it in detail and then provide recommendations on how the process can be improved in terms of one or more operations performance objectives (i.e. cost, quality, speed, dependability and flexibility). In the report, you are required to:
Describe the organisation and the process you have selected.
Keep the organisation description brief but make sure that the reader can clearly understand what the organisation does and the organisational context.
Keep the process description brief but ensure the reader understands what the process is, how it affects the organisation’s overall performance, and how it is currently designed. You need to include a process map – which can be a high-level process map, particularly if the process is large.
Evaluate the current performance of the process in terms of all five performance objectives. Given the organisation’s strategy and needs, identify and briefly discuss the performance objective or objectives that need to be improved.
Use some of the concepts and tools of Process Design and Analysis (i.e. Topic 3 in the Learning Materials) to analyse the process in detail and provide recommendations on how it can be improved in terms of the identified operations performance objective (or objectives). If your recommendations include a reconfiguration of the process, make sure to include the new optimised process map.
It is important to demonstrate your knowledge about the required Operations Management concepts and to clearly reference your sources. Read journal articles (using AIB Online Library), books (including the textbook), and business literature, etc. Note the sources and use them throughout your report. In order to do well you need to structure your discussion appropriately, use good references, and clearly link recommendations to the description and analysis presented earlier in the report. The required word length for this assignment is 2500 words (plus or minus 10%).
Your assignment will be marked according to the criteria outlined in the assessment grading criteria outlined in the Subject Outline.
In terms of structure, presentation and style you are normally required to use:
AIB standard report format
AIB preferred Microsoft Word settings
author-date style referencing (which includes in-text citations plus a reference list).
Reference lists for AIB assignments/projects normally contain the following number of relevant references from different sources: 6–12 (for MBA assignments).
All references must be from credible sources such as books, industry related journals, magazines, company documents and recent academic articles.
Your grade will be adversely affected if your assignment contains no/poor citations and/or reference list and if your assignment word length is beyond the allowed tolerance level (see Assessment Policy available on AIB website)

ASSIGNMENTProgramme Title CW_BRLBM_H Module Title Strategic Management Assignment Number 2 Assignment Type Take Home Assignment Weighting 30% Submission date 10th of December 2020 (7pm) Continuous Assessment Submission Guidelines Assignments must be submitted via Turnitin. If assignments are not submitted via Turnitin, this will be regarded as a non-submission. Assignments should be double lined spaced and clearly structured. Please observe the word count. Assignments that are too short or too long will be penalised. You must put word count on title page. Extension Policy Assignments will not be accepted after the submission date. As per IT Carlow policy, submission dates will only be extended in exceptional circumstances. If an extension is required, students must apply at https://www.itcarlow.ie/study/lifelonglearning/extension-request-form.htm in advance of the deadline.. Supporting documentary evidence must also be provided. The circumstances under which a request for an extension will be considered include, but are not limited to: ? Serious personal/family/business reasons ? Where a student is representing their country or Institute An extension is unlikely to be considered under the following circumstances: ? Minor illnesses such as a common cold ? Holidays during the academic year ? Multiple assignments due at the one time ? Failure to plan study schedule ? Debs/weddings/social events ? IT and/or computer failure Please note that loss of/damage to a USB stick is not considered a valid reason for an extension under IT Carlow policy. To avoid any unnecessary distress, please ensure that you back up your work regularly as you undertake your assignment. By registering with free online storage services such as Dropbox or SkyDrive you can save your work online and access it at any computer. Alternatively use an external hard drive/or just email it to yourself. Failure to submit a piece of assessment will result in a grade of 0. Plagiarism Policy Assignments which have copied work from websites, from other authors, from other students or any other sources will receive a grade of 0. All instances of plagiarism must be reported to the Head of Department who, in turn, is obliged to report them to the Registrar. Students who receive this grade may be asked to justify their actions to the Institute’s plagiarism panel. Students must apply to the examination board at the end of the academic year to re-submit their work in such instances. Please note that copying verbatim from original sources is unacceptable even if you provide references. Referencing Please consult ‘Credit Where Credit is Due’ for the referencing system used by IT Carlow. Please ensure accuracy and consistency in your referencing. The following are the most common reference types that you will need when compiling the reference list at the end of your assignments. Journal articles: For example: Seebohm, P., Gilchrist, A. and Morris, D. (2012) Bold but Balanced: How Community Development Contributes to Mental Health and Inclusion. Community Development Journal, 47 (4), pp. 473-490. Books For example: Banks, S. (2012) Ethics and Values in Social Work. (4th Ed.) Basingstoke: Palgrave Macmillan. Book Chapter If a book is an edited collection with different contributors for each chapter, cite the author of the specific chapter you have used in your work. If you use more than one chapter, cite each author separately. Include the page numbers of the chapter in the bibliography. For example: Forde, C. (2009) The Politics of Community Development: Relationship with the State. In: Forde, C., Kiely, E. and Meade, R., eds. Youth and Community in Ireland: Critical Perspectives, Dublin: Gill and Macmillan, pp. 49-68. Webpage Unless the webpage has a specified individual author, you can treat the organisation as the author. If the year the webpage was created is available, you can give this. If not, simply state ‘no date available’. You must also include the date which you last accessed the webpage in brackets at the end of the reference. For example: Children’s Rights Alliance, (no date available) What Are Children’s Rights? Available: http://www.childrensrights.ie/childrens-rights-ireland/childrens-rights-ireland [accessed 01 September 2013]. To avoid common referencing mistakes, please note the following: ? In the reference list, place the title of the journal, not the specific journal article, in italics. ? In the reference list, give a full reference for a webpage not just the URL. ? When referencing books in the reference list, the place of publication (e.g. Dublin) precedes the name of the publisher (e.g. Gill and Macmillan). ? There is no need to bullet point or number your reference list. ? When citing websites within the main body of your assignment, use the (author, date) formulation rather than the URL; i.e. write (Children’s Rights Alliance, no date available) rather than inserting the web address. When quoting directly from an original source within the main body of your assignment, give the page number(s). (Try to avoid excessive use of direct quotation.
