Read each step of the assignment carefully and be sure to complete the bullet points for each step.

Complete each bullet point with detailed explanations. Don’t just list information quickly. Show

your mind working by providing explanations which prove you studied and understood the details of the lectures.

Don’t copy my sentences. Don’t use my sentences with just a few word changes. Write your own sentences. You may use words, phrases, and concepts from the lectures. But the sentences should be your own. That means your sentences should clearly be distinct from mine – in order to show your mind working.

Re-read your writing before submitting your work. Look for mistakes and unclear sentences to fix. The more time you invest in your writing, the more your writing will express your intelligence.

Here’s the assignment for Response Paper #3:

Write an essay completing the four steps below. Make sure your essay is based exclusively on studying the assigned lectures on Blackboard in the “Industrialization” folder.

discussing three other examples in the history of industrialization in which job loss is related to

economic progress, including dates

Her campaign slogan is “Everyone Wins.” Her main point is that she has “a plan to create jobs which will benefit everyone.” She gives some details about “investing” money in “new technology,” “green energy,” and “artificial intelligence.” Based on studying the lectures, write a paragraph explaining

Night of the Living Dead heavily influenced later iterations of the “zombie apocalypse” plot

LINK : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w8ui9l0krZk&ab_channel=AnatollD.

Night of the Living Dead heavily influenced later iterations of the “zombie apocalypse” plot. In many cases, later stories reused the tropes established by Romero’s film. In other cases, new creators deliberately tried to reimagine their zombies in contrast to Romero’s living dead.

???? Watch the following clip from Marc Forster’s World War Z (US, 2013). The film depicts a “zombie apocalypse” in which an infectious disease leads to an outbreak of zombie-ism that spreads across the globe, threatening to wipe out mankind. This scene shows the first outbreak of zombies in the United States.

As you watch, consider:

  • What characterizes the “zombie”, as it is depicted in this film? How do these zombies compare to Romero’s living dead? If you are familiar with other depictions of zombies in literature, film, or art, how does this depiction compare?
  • Based on the characteristics given to the zombie, what do you think is the symbolic significance of this figure? If the zombie is a fantastical embodiment of real-world anxieties and fears, what might these be?
  • What about the way the uninfected humans respond to the zombie threat? Why do you think they are depicted in this way? Do you think their depiction is realistic? What does their depiction tell us about our understanding of and beliefs concerning human nature?
Do you notice some ways in which these zombies share traits with the living dead, and some in which these zombies have been reimagined?

Your next assignment will be an exercise comparing and contrasting these representations of zombies, while exploring the layers of symbolism zombies carry for us.

You may have seen some examples of these “anatomy of” memes, where people break down and label various traits or characteristics of an object, animal, type of person, etc.

INSTRUCTION:

Create an “Anatomy of a Zombie” chart that labels some characteristics of the zombies in Night of the Living Dead and World War Z, including at least one trait they have in common, and at least 3 traits totalWith each trait you label, include a brief statement about the symbolism of that trait; for example, don’t just label “Rotting limbs”, but “Rotting limbs, reminds the audience of their own mortality.”

OR

You can choose to create the Anatomy of a Zombie Victim chart that breaks down what traits lead to someone being attacked by zombies in each of these stories, and what those weaknesses, vulnerabilities, or negative character traits might symbolize for us. Again, you should include at least 3 traits total, with at least one shared in common by the figures from both films.

At the bottom of this page, you will find attachments you can use as templates for your anatomy charts. You have the option to download either a PDF or JPG file. You can add your annotations using a PDF editor (like Acrobat or Preview), an image editor (like Photoshop or Google Draw); you can also insert the JPG image into a Word, Pages or Google doc (set the image layout to “Behind Text” so you can type over it). You can also print the PDF and add your annotations by hand, then take a photo of your finished chart.

Note: If you do the zombie victim chart, you don’t need to limit your comments to those that apply to Barbra — she’s just there to represent all the victims in the film

What is life? Research six specimens from the list below, describe them as living, nonliving

INTRODUCTION TO SCIENCE Assignment Overview

Characteristics of Living Things

Defining life can be very difficult. Scientists don’t all agree on a standard list of characteristics that define all life, but most generally agree on a common set of properties. Many of these properties are not limited to living things; some nonliving things may share a few of these characteristics as well. For instance, viruses don’t have the necessary machinery to reproduce themselves; they must use cellular hosts to make more viral copies. Because they cannot reproduce, they are not considered living.

Case Assignment

Your Assignment:

  1. What is life? Research six specimens from the list below, describe them as living, nonliving, or dead and give support for why each belongs in their respective category.

Brown grassWhale spermHIV virusFertilized chicken eggHair from human headPrionEgg from grocery storeSkin cell from back of handAmoebaBlood cellMushroomCoral reef

  1. What traits did you list as characteristics of living things, but were not easily observable?
  2. List several processes that occur while an organism is alive, but cease when it is dead.
  3. Did any nonliving things possess some of the same characteristics as living things? Which ones?
  4. How do plants differ from animals in their life activities?
  5. Define the word dormant. What factors influence whether something is considered dormant?
  6. Research one of the following controversial discoveries: nanobacteria (Young & Martel, 2009), the “fossilized Martian bacteria” observed on the meteorite ALH84001 (McKay et al., 1996), or Craig Venter’s 2010 announcement of the first creation of “synthetic life” (Gibson et al., 2010). Review the claims made by the researchers who announced the discovery. Do the organisms fit the definition of life? How so?

Assignment Expectations

Organize this essay assignment using subtitles that summarize the topic from each question above. For example, to answer Question 1, use a descriptive subtitle like the following: What is Life?

Your essay should be approximately 2-3 pages in length. Answer each question under the subtitle using complete sentences that relate back to the question. Be sure to use APA formatting throughout your essay with 1-inch margins, 12-point type and double spacing throughout. Include a title page, introduction, answers to the questions with subtitles and concluding paragraph. Remember to include in-text citations within the body of the essay referencing your resources (i.e. Murray, 2014). Also, be sure to include a reference section at the end of your assignment listing all required readings and any additional resources you used to complete your essay.

Assessment instructions Scenario:
A couple that have been living and working in the tourism industry overseas for the past ten years, are planning to return home to Australia, and more specifically the Great Ocean Road region of Victoria in the next few months. Knowing that tourism is a vital contributor to the economy of the region, they are thinking that they would like to start their own business. You have been asked by the couple to provide an assessment of the region, and recommendation for a new business opportunity in the tourism sector. The business you propose can be an attraction, activity, tour provider or boutique accommodation, but you will need to demonstrate that there is a market for this business and that it fits with the overall strategic tourism objectives for the region.
The region is currently divided into sixteen separate destinations, each with its own Destination Action Plan (DAP). These can be found here https://greatoceanroadtourism.org.au/destination-action-plans/ . You will need to pick which of these destinations your business would be located in and ensure that what you propose aligns with the DAP for that destination.
Your task is to write a report that:
? Critically appraises the region, its current visitors, current experiential offerings and tourism infrastructure.
? Evaluates the strategic tourism objectives for the region as a whole and the specific destination objectives as per the DAP.
? Identifies a gap in the current experiential offering that is aligned with the DAP for the selected destination.
? Proposes a tourism business that would fill that gap.
? Identifies the specific target market/s, who they are, how you selected them and why you think they would be interested what your business has to offer.
? Identifies what key relationships/partnerships the business would need to be successful.
? Outlines specific goals for your business to achieve.
? Specifies how you would measure the success of your business in achieving the objectives of the region and long-term viability of its operations.
The report must be well researched (based on relevant and reliable sources), and incorporate theories, management principles and the published strategies of tourism agencies that promote tourism and visitation to the Great Ocean Road region of Victoria. It should be written in an academic style, approx. 3000 words in length (not including executive summary, reference list or any appendices).
Be particularly careful to avoid plagiarism that is, passing other people’s work off as your own (academic theft). Penalties for plagiarism are heavy and may include failure in the course.
The main criteria for success:
1.Insight – The report should demonstrate an in-depth understanding of the destination/attraction experiential services and qualities, and tourist/visitor motivation theory and the role of stakeholders in providing and managing this.

  1. Substantiation – The report should be underpinned by course material and additional readings around the topic.
3.Clarity and structure – The report should be well structured and clearly presented
    Readings for the assessment
(instructions where they can be found e.g. MyAthens database, Moodle etc.) Relevant readings for this assessment can be found on Moodle, relevant agency websites and using the EBSCO Discovery service.

This starts with the development of realistic budget for advertising and promotion ideas. This will be achieved through the use of general rule of thumb which requires that allocation of about 5 to 10 % of expected annual revenues. However, the percentage of allocation can change drastically depending with the industry. The Enjoy Living company uses market analysis to determine the percentage indicators(Covello & Hazelgren, 2006). The company will include good mixture of promotion items in the advertising campaign because the budget is relatively small. The company intends to spend a budget of about $150,000 to $200,000 per year. As a result, the company will use stamps, brochures, envelopes, letterheads and business cards. These items will create awareness and give the business plenty of exposure with the use of limited resources.

Using enjoy living company 1.What are your monthly sales? Provide supporting calculations for how you reached your sales figure, and assure the calculations are realistic. For example, you might expect 100 visitors to your store the first month, 150 the second (and so forth) and they will each spend an average of $20. For the year, that might total $100,000. 2.Pick your top five expenses. How have you determined your expenses? Be specific, and back up your assumptions with research. For example, if you will be renting, what are the going rates for rentals? How much will electricity and other utilities cost? What salaries will you pay and what perks will you give employees? What is your salary or intended draw from the company?

Its is anticipated that Enjoy Living will receive an average of 5 patients daily, which translate to 150 patients a month. For the service and products, each patient will be charged $1000 per visit. This means that the earning will averaging $150,000 per month; (150*$1000 = $150,000)(Johnson & Skjold, 2014). The general outlook of the industry showed that a starting company will receive 3 to 5 patients in the first month, but the number increases based on the marketing strategy adopted by the company. Therefore, in the second month, Enjoy Living anticipate to increase the number of patients to 10 per day. This means that the sales of the company will increase to $1000 per day and $300,000 per month.             The first five leading expenses are salaries ($21,285.83), Rent ($60,000), outside service ($12,000), Repairs and Maintenance ($6,850), and Accounting and Legal (6,480). These expenses weredetermined based on the number of workforces the company will employ in the first month and the number of patients the company will receive per month as well as the facilities needed to provide high quality services(Johnson & Skjold, 2014). Financial Projection

The financial project for Enjoy Living was based on the key assumptions. The first assumption was that the company will make cash payments for all the services and withhold 10 % of the sales projected as an insurance reimbursement. The second assumption was that Enjoy Living will be operating on a strong and stable economy with minimal recession(Covello & Hazelgen, 2006). The third assumption was the medical insurance industry will not change in the near future. The fourth assumption was that the average variable cost will be 10 % of the monthly fixed cost. For Enjoy Living to break-even, it must provide 255 units of service per month or 3,010 units of service which translates to 894 patient visit annually.
