Another B2B busines model is exchanges. Exchanges are independent online marketplaces where many suppliers can connect with commercial purchasers to conduct transactions. In this task you will be required to critically evaluate research from areas of the biological bases of behavior, and use the research to propose solutions to a global health issue that is directly aligned to a Sustainable Development Goal. Your response will take the form of a population-based case study analysis. The following steps apply:
Choose a population-based case study from the three categories provided below, and select one of the specific options. You must focus on one of the assignations below, otherwise a grade of zero will be awarded for this assessment.
Identify the challenge for the particular case study and population option, and formulate a research question to focus on, including the methodological approaches and research inclusions and exclusions for the literature review.
Conduct a literature review on your question to evaluate the current research in behavioural neuroscience.
Write up your case study in the following format.
a. The first section of your submission will provide an overview of the case study, and the overarching aim of your analysis of it. Write this first as you will use this synopsis to formulate a scope of your literature review. Be sure to include concise information to inform the reader about the population and the challenge (recommended word limit: 200).
b. Detail your research question because the research question will determine the review method, the literature sourced, and the focus. A research question in this context is the stated aim/focus of the review that you have set out to have answered by the review process. At this point, detail the inclusion/exclusion criteria for the literature (this is how you determine what literature to include in the review), and explain the reasoning behind these considerations. Use this as an opportunity to really define your review aim and method and its focus (recommended word limit: 200).
c. Present your evidence-based literature review, critically evaluating the research as it applies to your case study, your aim, and your research question; and provide discussion on behavioural neuroscience evidence-based solutions to the identified issue. Depending on topic and focus, your critical evaluation might involve, for example, weighing up the balance of the evidence in relation to what has been shown to work or not work) and then providing a clearly stated determination for the reader (recommended word limit: 900).
d. The final section of your submission will provide a succinct overview of your findings of the literature review, and your recommended behavioural neuroscience evidence-based solution(s) to the challenge as it applies to the target population (recommended word limit: 200).

Use the data set in DATA_ASSIGNMENT, which includes information on number of medals won by each country in 2012 and 2016 in the Olympic Games held in London and Rio de Janeiro, respectively, and the characteristics of each country. Country ID is the country identifier. Year denotes the year when the Olympics games were held. Real GDP is the Real Gross Domestic Product of country in billions of dollars. Population is the number of people living in country in millions of people. Total Medals in the sum of gold, silver and bronze medals won by country. Host Country is a dummy variable that takes the value 1 if the country is hosting the Olympic Games and takes the value 0 if the country is not hosting the games. Planned Economy is a dummy variable that takes the value 1 if the country is a planned economy (or was a planned economy in the past), and 0 otherwise.

  1. Present the descriptive statistics of the variables RealGDP, Population, Total Medals. Comment on the means and measures of dispersion (standard deviation, skewness, and kurtosis) of the variables.
  2. Estimate the following simple regression model of total medals and real GDP.

How to write your paper:

Construct three solid, thoughtful, intelligent, paragraphs total, one in answer to each of the questions below. This means that overall your written assessment when complete must be three paragraphs, 600-800 words in total development, and include a typed, accurate word count at its end.

Paragraph Topics:

1. COMMUNICATION MODEL: After learning about the different models of communication (also a video we watched this week), identify and explain the MESSAGE, RECEIVER, SENDER, CHANNEL, CODE, DECODE, and overall TYPE OF MODEL AND WHY YOU BELIEVE IT IS THIS TYPE OF MODEL (linear or interaction) as they apply to the “Stroke of Insight” speech. Label, CAPITALIZE, and underline the terms as you use them. For example, if you discuss the message, begin by stating, “The MESSAGE presented is…,” etc.

2. CRITICAL LISTENING: In effort to practice our critical listening skills, briefly summarize and analyze the message SENT in “Stroke of Insight.”

Do so by (a) identifying the main idea the speaker presents and at least three of her supporting ideas. Next (b) consider what preconceived ideas, biases, prejudices, and or background knowledge you brought to the listening experience with this speech. Consider, for example, your pre-existing feelings/ideas about things like mental health, mental illness, neurology, strokes, female speakers, etc. Next, (c) explain whether or not you believe the speaker’s message about her stroke experience by analyzing and discussing her use of facts, opinions, and conclusions drawn. (Is her message mostly factual? Mostly opinion? Are the conclusions she draws logical? What facts and/or opinions does she use to draw her conclusions? Are they believable?) 3. BARRIERS TO COMMUNICATION AND LISTENING: Our reading and viewing materials this week also introduce us to various barriers that get in the way of intended and effective communication. Specifically, one video pointed out three categories of NOISE that potentially act as barriers when communicating. Identify these three categories of noise discussed in the MODELS video, then explain how TWO of these categories specifically impacted your ability to listen and “get the message” viewed in the “Stroke of Insight” presentation. Overview

Modeling can be a very difficult topic and is as much an art as a science. When making decisions or solving business problems it can be helpful to construct a diagram that can aid a decision maker with a model of a situation even solving it. In this assignment you will construct diagrams of time-proven models and methodologies related to optimization, search methods, heuristic programming, and simulation.

In many cases, results of predictive models or even optimization models get simplified as rules that are then implemented in other applications. You will also analyze how your models can be supported by applications of automated rule systems and expert system technologies.

Directions

In a 5–6 page paper (including graphics), create either an influence diagram or a flow-diagram for the following:

  • Construct an analytical model for a linear programming problem.
  • Construct an analytical model using the analytic hierarchy process.
  • Formulate a model for a heuristic search method.
  • Formulate a model using a simulation method for decision support.

In your paper you should create and explain a business situation for each model, develop a graphic, and discuss the relevant aspects of the model. You should conclude your paper with a discussion on how automated rule systems and expert system technologies can be used in your models.
