The federal government regulates the EBP by ensuring healthcare professionals have the necessary skills to adopt it

Evidence Based Policy

Organizational Policy

Evidence-based practice (EBP) is a proposed policy that is applied in the healthcare sector by different stakeholders, including the healthcare providers, patients, and management (Mcgrath, 2019).

The federal government regulates the EBP by ensuring healthcare professionals have the necessary skills to adopt it.

The performance benchmarks target evaluating the medical errors, re-hospitalization rates, and recovery rates.

Evidence-based practice, often known as EBP, is used in the healthcare industry by various stakeholders, including patients, healthcare professionals, and management. The EBP is now being regulated by the federal government, which is doing so by ensuring that healthcare practitioners possess the essential competencies to implement it. The evaluation of medical errors, re-hospitalization rates, and recovery rates are the primary focuses of the performance benchmarks that are now being carried out.

2

Adoption of Informed Practice

Physicians recently are the stakeholders that have agreed to adopt the EBP in their intervention.

EBP entails following strict clinical criteria to choose the best course of action for the patient, frequently placing more importance on processes than on the client’s desires or the physician’s knowledge (Breslin, 2018).

Adopting the evidence-based practice (EBP) is critical in the healthcare sector because it improves decision-making, ensuring that the patient’s interests are addressed accordingly. Until recently, physicians concentrated on providing healthcare through evidence-based practices (EBP). EBP entails following strict clinical criteria to choose the best course of action for the patient, frequently placing more importance on processes than on the client’s desires or the physician’s knowledge (Breslin, 2018). Several academics and researchers have questioned the validity of EBP because it ignores the patient’s beliefs and principles while making treatment judgments, which is difficult to understand.

3

Practice Guidelines

The evidence based policy is a public policy guideline that is applicable in the healthcare sector helping in improving the processes, programs and procedures of care.

The health providers are considering the policy due to the fact that it ensure that previous data and researches are used to inform the decision made in healthcare.

The evidence-based policy is a public policy guideline that is relevant in the healthcare sector and helps in improving the processes, plans, and procedures of treatment. This guideline was developed by the Institute of Medicine (IOM). The fact that it ensures that past data and researches are used to inform the decisions that are made in healthcare is one of the primary reasons why health professionals are contemplating the strategy.

4

How a Proposed Policy and practice guidelines will affect how a stakeholder group does its work.

The nurses and physicians start working towards a patient-centered care model.

The healthcare providers work as an interdisciplinary team where they cooperate, integrate, and communicate care of the teams.

Application of quality improvement where nurses and physicians can identify errors and the disease diagnosis before intervention (Breslin, 2018).

Provide patient-centered care, which means recognizing and caring about patients’ differences, values, preferences, and expressed needs; relieving pain and suffering; coordinating continuous care; listening to, clearly informing, communicating with, and educating patients; sharing decision-making and management; and always advocating for disease prevention, wellness, and promoting healthy lifestyles, with a focus on population health. Work in teams with people from different fields, and ensure care is continuous and reliable by cooperating, collaborating, communicating, and integrating care. Use evidence-based practice. For the best care, combine the best research with clinical expertise and patient values, and participate in learning and research activities as much as possible. Apply quality improvement: find errors and risks in care; understand and use basic safety design principles like standardization and simplification; understand and measure the quality of care in terms of structure, process, and outcomes in relation to patient and community needs; and design and test interventions to change processes and systems of care to improve quality.

5

How EBP will improve Stakeholders Group Outcome

Patient-centered care is based on the professional interaction between clinicians and patients, which gives patients a chance to say what they believe, what they want, and how they want to be treated.

This is based on the idea that health professionals can better make clinical decisions because they have more specialized knowledge about the subject (Tran, 2020).

Patient-centered care is based on the professional interaction between clinicians and patients, which gives patients a chance to say what they believe, what they want, and how they want to be treated. When making therapeutic decisions, doctors have long taken a paternalistic approach, acting on behalf of their patients and their families. This is based on the idea that health professionals can better make clinical decisions because they have more specialized knowledge about the subject (Tran, 2020). Even if this is true, this way of making decisions doesn’t consider what the patient wants. To ensure patients are safe and happy, they need to discuss therapy options and procedures.

6

Benchmarking of Evidence Based Practice

Benchmarking compares and evaluates a healthcare organization’s performance versus that of similar organizations across the country.

Benchmarking the EBP is critical and has also been adjusted to the nursing area, especially in long-term and acute care hospitals.

The relevant benchmarking methods include quality control, patient happiness, and patient safety.

Benchmarking compares and evaluates a healthcare organization’s performance versus that of similar organizations across the country. Leaders can use it to see how their organization stacks up against other organizations that provide the same service. There is also a national-level sharing of best practices and evidence-based practice (EBP) clinical trial results. Benchmarks can be adjusted to specific nursing areas, such as acute and long-term care hospitals, hospices, and home health institutions. Quality control, customer happiness enhancement, patient safety enhancement, and ongoing improvement are the four cornerstones of clinical practice benchmarking.

7

Collaboration with Policymakers

Collaborating with policymakers ensure that policies directed towards healthcare support the evidence based practice policy that support healthcare providers.

Policymakers should consider use of the evidence based policy structure in developing laws that help healthcare move to the next level.

Working together with those who determine policy to ensure that policies pertaining to healthcare support the evidence-based practice policy that aids in the provision of healthcare is an important step. When drafting regulations that will help the healthcare industry go to the next level, policymakers should give serious consideration to using the evidence-based policy structure.

8

Strategies of Collaboration with Stakeholders and Colleagues

Stakeholders, especially nurses and physicians, play an important role in implementing evidence-based practice since they are the main implementers.

The healthcare providers agree to participate in the training and education program on using the EBP and skills to deliver quality services (Tran, 2020).

Patients also adhere to the EBP protocol that the providers adopt and accept to receive patient-centered care.

Since they are the primary implementers, stakeholders—and nurses and doctors in particular—play a vital part in the process of putting evidence-based practice into action. The healthcare providers have indicated that they are willing to participate in the training and education program that will focus on using EBP and skills to give quality services. In addition, patients agree to follow the EBP protocol accepted by the providers and to take part in the patient-centered care being provided.

9

Impact of EBP change

The primary goal of the suggested reform is for doctors to identify, respect, and attend to each patient’s condition as a unique experience based on their values, principles, and requirements.

Patient-centered care that offers critical information about the ailment, available therapies, and therapy options and empowers patients to make their own decisions is another desirable outcome.

The approach can improve health outcomes and boost patient satisfaction by involving patients in their care. Patient engagement in clinical decision-making will necessitate training for professionals, which will add to the expenditures.

10

How to Achieve the Changes

To achieve the EBP goal, health care providers should be educated and trained to recognize the importance of incorporating patients into the decision-making process.

To achieve this goal, patients and their loved ones must understand the importance of actively participating in discussions on therapeutic treatments and expressing their thoughts and desires.

The inability of patients to effectively communicate their wants and needs to healthcare professionals may also result from service fragmentation throughout the patient care process.

The goal of evidence-based practice (EBP) should be accomplished by educating and training health care practitioners so that they know the significance of involving patients in the decision-making process. To achieve this objective, patients and the people closest to them in their lives need to comprehend how vital it is to take an active part in conversations on therapeutic treatments and to communicate their thoughts and wishes. Service fragmentation throughout the patient care process may be another factor contributing to patients’ incapacity to properly convey their goals and requirements to the medical professionals treating them.

11

Financial and Health Implications

When used with patient-centered care, a practice that is based on evidence leads to better health outcomes.

After getting a lot of training, patients can choose treatments that are tailored to their needs and preferences.

Because patients are safer and happier, there are fewer lawsuits and claims of malpractice (Mcgrath, 2019

After getting a lot of training, patients can choose treatments that are tailored to their needs and preferences. Because patients are safer and happier, there are fewer lawsuits and malpractice claims (Mcgrath, 2019). If the suggested change is not made, practitioners might not see how important it is to include patients in the decision-making process. If the patient’s wants and needs aren’t considered, this could lead to lawsuits and other financial problems.

Business management skills
Background
Refer to the Case study business profile for Capital City Finance and Mortgage Brokers (CCF & MB) located in the subject room.
George and Mildred are very happy with the way you provide service to your clients and your contribution to building the business. They now want you to take the next step into a more senior role of general manager and turn your focus to expanding the business, by building relationships through strategic alliances with selected real estate agents, accountants and legal firms. They also want you to consider how CCF & MB can consolidate its relationships with its existing strategic partners.
Task 1 — Developing and nurturing relationships with clients, other professionals and third-party referrers
George and Mildred require you to write two (2) growth plans.
• The first growth plan will outline how you will strengthen the strategic relationships you already have with a number of real estate agents, accountant and legal firms.
• The second growth plan will outline how you will identify and foster new relationships with other real estate agents, accountants and legal firms
The layout and content of each plan should address the following:
• Identify the business objectives and needs.
• Capital City Finance and Mortgage Brokers (CCF & MB) does not have a vision statement. You will need to create one. (In the first growth plan you will outline how you developed, reviewed and finalised the vision statement).
• Outline the policies and procedures that are essential for the growth plan to be functional, effective and meet legislative requirements.
• Conduct sufficient market research to identify key relationship opportunities and what will be required to maintain and attract relationships.
• Outline how you could use and cooperate with other professionals and third parties to expand and enhance the reputation of the organisation.
• Segment the relationships and tailor the plan for each.
• Clearly identify the priorities for each relationship based on the overall vision and objectives of the business.
• Set appropriate growth targets.
• Develop an action plan to achieve the growth targets.
• Review existing business work activities and confirm they support the business growth plans.
• Outline who will need to be consulted during implementation of your plan.
• Outline how you will monitor and adjust the plan.

Task 4 — Improving the business
Over the last few months business for CCF & MB has been very good with a number of new clients coming on board as a result of implementing your business growth and marketing plans. However, neither you or the business owners are satisfied with maintaining the status quo; as you and they are committed to a program of continuous improvement.
You all feel that CCF & MB’s competitive advantage needs to be strengthened and a SWOT should be undertaken to establish CCF & MB’s strengths and weaknesses including benchmarking the business against the industry. You now decide that you will carry out a diagnosis of the business including a SWOT analysis and a benchmarking exercise to improve CCF &MB’s competitive advantage and its business. You are to produce a document covering your diagnosis, which will be distributed amongst CCF & MB’s key personnel.
As a minimum, your document should cover the following:
• Identify the business priorities, objectives, needs and requirements.
• The data and tools you have used as part of your diagnosis to identify CCF & MB’s competitive advantage.
• A SWOT analysis to identify CCF & MB’s strengths and weaknesses, its threats and opportunities.
• How you identified and sourced relevant benchmarking data.
• How you selected the key indicators (and who you consulted with) for your benchmarking exercise.
• A consolidated list of the areas for improvement (this must include at least three (3) different financial businesses) you have identified with a cost-benefit ratio established for each of them.
• Outline the stakeholders you consulted with to reach agreement on the areas of improvement and the success factors.
• Recommendations on the changes that may be required that will affect existing workflows or CCF & MB’s organisational structure.
• A high-level action plan that will implement and monitor the recommended changes to be made.
In addition to the learning material in Topic 1-2, Part 2, refer to the helpful links provided in the Toolbox.

This type of report also includes a summary of the services provided to these groups or individuals. This evaluation is used by the various entities to assess basic needs, competencies, preferences, skills, traits, dispositions, and abilities for different individuals in a variety of settings.

Psychological reports vary widely depending on the psychology professional creating it and the needs being assessed. Some of the psychology professionals who create this type of report include counselors, school psychologists, consultants, psychometricians, or psychological examiners. This type of report may be as short as three pages or as long as 20 or more pages depending on the needs of the stakeholders. Many reports include tables of scores that are attached either in an appendix or integrated into the report. Despite the many variations in assessment reports, most include the same essential information and headings.

Students will choose one of the personality assessment scenarios from the discussions in Weeks Two, Three, or Four to use as the basis of this psychological assessment report. Once the scenario has been chosen, students will research a minimum of four peer-reviewed articles that relate to and support the content of the scenario and the report as outlined below. The following headings and content must be included in the report:

The Reason for Referral and Background Information
In this section, students will describe the reasons for the referral and relevant background information for all stakeholders from the chosen personality assessment scenario.

Assessment Procedures
In this section, students will include a bulleted list of the test(s) and other assessment measures recommended for the evaluation of the given scenario. In addition to the assessment(s) initially provided in the personality assessment scenario from the weekly discussion, students must include at least three other measures appropriate for the scenario.

Immediately following the bulleted list, students will include a narrative description of the assessments. In the narrative, students will examine and comment on the major theoretical approaches, research methods, and assessment instruments appropriate for the situation and stakeholder needs. In order to defend the choice of recommended assessments, students will evaluate current research in the field of personality theories and provide examples of how these assessments are valid for use in the chosen scenario. For additional support of these recommended assessment measures, students will evaluate the standardization, reliability and validity, and cultural considerations present in these personality assessments that make them the most appropriate tools for the given scenario. Students will conclude the narrative by assessing types of personality measurements and research designs often used in scenarios like the one chosen and providing a rationale for why some of those assessments were not included.

General Observations and Impressions
In this section, students will describe general observations of the client during the assessment period provided in the chosen personality assessment scenario and explain whether the client’s behavior might have had a negative impact on the test results. Students will analyze and comment on how the APA’s Ethical Principles and Code of Conduct affected the implementation of the personality assessment during the initial process. Based on the observations and analysis, students will assess the validity of the evaluation and make a recommendation for or against the necessity for additional testing.

Test Results and Interpretations
In this section, students will analyze the results of the assessment provided in the chosen personality assessment scenario. Based on the score, students will interpret the personality factors (conscientiousness, openness, emotional stability, introversion, extroversion, work drive, self-directedness, etc.) that are present.

Note: Typically, this section reports test results and is the longest section of a psychological assessment report because the results of all the tests administered are analyzed and reported. Some psychologists report all test results individually, while others may integrate only a portion of the test results. However, in this report, only the assessment presented in the chosen personality assessment scenario will be included.

Summary and Recommendations
In this section, students will summarize the test results.  They will provide a complete explanation for the evaluation, the procedures and measures used, and the results and include any recommendations translating the evaluation into strategies and suggestions to support the client. Finally, students will provide any conclusions and diagnostic impressions drawn from the previous sections of the report

‘Not yet demonstrated’ and resubmissions
Should sections of your assignment be marked as ‘Not yet demonstrated’ you will be given an additional opportunity to amend your responses so that you can demonstrate your competency to the required level.
You must address the assessor’s feedback in your amended responses. You only need amend those sections where the assessor has determined you are ‘Not yet demonstrated’.
Make changes to your original submission. Use a different text colour for your resubmission. Your assessor will be in a better position to gauge the quality and nature of your changes. They now want you to turn your focus to your primary task, which is to assist in expanding the business by building relationships with selected real estate agents, accountants and legal firms through strategic alliances. They also want you to consider how CCF & MB can consolidate its relationships with its existing strategic partners.
Let’s recap on what you already know about Capital City Finance and Mortgage Brokers (CCF & MB).
It’s a family owned business providing a range of mortgage and finance broking services to the business and private sectors, with experience in all facets of finance and insurance, providing expert advice covering a multitude of products and options existing within the market.
CCF & MB specialises in home loans, commercial lending, business lending, personal and motor vehicle finance and insurance (life and general) and focuses on helping clients find the finance service suited to their individual circumstances.
It provides its services through its association with the following partners:
• Australian Aggregators: a rising company within the aggregation business, with an extensive panel of residential and commercial lenders, and asset finance.
• ABC General Insurance: a boutique insurance company specialising in a full range of general insurances.
• XYZ Life: a small family-owned insurance brokerage specialising in the full range of life insurance products.
Based in the city, CCF & MB has the capacity to service clients from their office or anywhere at their clients’ convenience through its team of mobile brokers.
CCF & MB does not hold a credit license but operates as a credit representative of Australian Aggregators.
Since its inception 13 years ago, CCF & MB has built a loan book of almost $1.2 billion and averages over $120 million in new loans annually.
CCF & MB’s vision is to be the mortgage and finance broker of choice in the greater metropolitan area.
CCF & MB’s mission statement is: ‘to operate professionally in accordance with legislation, our licence and professional standards’.
CCF & MB’s values are as follows:
• to act with honesty and integrity at all times
• to provide unbiased advice and conduct business, free from any conflict of interest
• to maintain confidentiality in all dealings
• to meet all NCCP regulatory requirements
• to comply with all mortgage industry laws and regulations
• to ensure quality and efficiency in its loan processes.
CCF & MB’s people
CCF & MB is owned by husband and wife, George and Mildred Spencer.
With over 35 years’ experience in finance and business ownership, George established and built a successful business dedicated to assisting clients with managing their finances effectively. Starting the business with his wife Mildred 13 years ago, George gained immense satisfaction in seeing it expand, to service more and more clients across the city and greater metropolitan area. Although in recent years he has stepped back from dealing directly with clients, he still maintains a small select clientele. He also takes great pride in training and mentoring his team to enhance their performance.
Mildred has over 22 years of lending experience and is qualified, not only to assist her clients with their mortgage requirements, but also to assist them with their commercial finance requirements. She also holds financial planning qualifications. She specialises in asset finance.
The company has a small team of five additional consultants and two administration staff members. Profiles for the team are as follows:
• Jennifer Dee is recognised as one of the top female brokers in Australia. She has been in the broking industry for over 10 years and has a passion and dedication to assist and accommodate all of her clients’ needs with their financial dreams. Jennifer is an Accredited Mortgage Consultant with the Mortgage and Finance Association of Australia (MFAA).
• Louise Spencer (George and Mildred’s eldest daughter) is an Accredited Mortgage Consultant with the Mortgage and Finance Association of Australia (MFAA) and has been working as a loan consultant for almost two years. Louise started off in the lending industry in the office as an administrator to gain as much experience and knowledge as possible before taking a broking role. Her passion for helping her clients ensures that she is always available to her clients at a time and place convenient for them.
• Michael Spencer is George’s younger brother and is CCF & MB’s equipment finance specialist. He has over 25 years working in the equipment finance industry. He has developed an in-depth understanding of the transport and agricultural industries, and also provides finance for general equipment, motor vehicles and computer equipment.
• Martin Long has specialised in equipment finance for the last three years, but prior to this he spent five years operating his own retail food business. This practical experience allows him to see things from his client’s point of view, including experience with equipment finance. He specialises in plant and equipment in the machinery, woodworking and packaging industries. Examples of some of the equipment he has financed are farm machinery, extrusion lines, plastic injection moulders, commercial catering equipment, woodworking plant, packaging lines, forklifts, office fit-outs and many different motor vehicles.
• Luis Ramirez migrated to Australia as a young boy; 25 years ago with his family. After completing high school he graduated from university with an accounting degree and worked in ANZ in commercial lending. He joined CCF & MB four years ago and specialises in vehicle and capital equipment financing. He provides ITC and general equipment lease funding options for clients. By providing better outcomes, both during and at the end of their equipment leases, Luis’ many clients have been able to reduce costs and maximise the value of their available budgets.
CCF & MB is a member of the MFAA, as a broking business dealing directly with the public. Both George and Mildred are fellows of the MFAA. CCF & MB is also a corporate member of the FBAA.

Task 4— Improving the business
Over the last few months business for CCF & MB has been very good with a number of new clients coming on board as a result of implementing your business growth and marketing plans. You are to produce a document covering your diagnosis, which will be distributed amongst CCF & MB’s key personnel.
As a minimum, your document should cover the following:
1. The data you have used as part of your diagnosis to identify CCF & MB’s competitive advantage.
2. A SWOT analysis to identify CCF & MB’s strengths and weaknesses, its threats and opportunities.
3. How you identified and sourced relevant benchmarking data.

As the general manager you have been monitoring Martin’s performance over the past month, providing informal feedback about his role in the project. Group Project
Country – Portugal
Intercultural and international communication has taken on a new role for students as well as career professionals. Knowing when the European and Asian markets open has become mandatory; so has awareness of multiple time zones and their importance in relation to trade, shipping, and the production cycle. Managing production in China from an office in Chicago has become common. Receiving technical assistance for your computer often means connecting with a well-educated English speaker in New Delhi. Communities are no longer linked as simply “brother” and “sister” cities in symbolic partnerships. They are linked in the daily trade of goods and services.
In your line of work, you will be exposed to a variety of different cultures and language differences. These different cultures and language differences can bring about differences in how you interact with others.
For this project, you will examine and explore the following from your assigned country:
1. Primary languages spoken in your country
2. Verbal and non-verbal communication skills
3. How teams interact and work together
4. Define management styles
5. Define how conflict is managed
6. Any other relevant information
Final Product:
1. 10-15 minute presentation to the class
2. Referencing of your material is a must!
3. 3 page (double-spaced) reflection on your experience working with your group.
– What did you learn from the experience? What do you think went well? What would you have done
differently, given the opportunity? What are your goals for future group work?
