Compose your Unit 7 Journal based on the readings from Women and Religion. (Do not do this assignment based upon THINK World Religions.)
These are the four required elements for your journal:
Give at least one quote from the readings (cite author and page number) – if there are multiple sources for readings it is fine to choose a quote from each.
Ask a question of clarification or analysis.
Write a substantial 2 paragraph (meaning at least 7-10 sentences per paragraph as a minimum) response that engages with the ideas and examples, including giving your own supported perspective.
Include a works cited list.
In your text Women and Religious Traditions, read:
Chapter 9: “Women in Western Spirituality Movements”
The journal should NOT be a summary of the texts but a thoughtful consideration of some ideas that emerged from the readings.
Guidelines: Double-space your submission and attach it as a Word doc. (Do not submit a PDF.) Format it overall so it complies with MLA or APA.

Read through them carefully and write a summary of each article. Write about the articles in everyday language, explaining the theory each was testing, the method used, the most important results, and the main points in the discussion. Be very careful not to plagiarize at this stage (please reread the course materials on academic integrity (plagiarism) and the APA guide on paraphrasing).
Use 500-600-words for EACH summary (for a total of 1,000-1,200-words), following this organizational structure:
1. A description of the article’s purpose and main hypotheses
2. A clear statement of the study’s design: Experimental or correlational? What were the main IVs or PVs? What was the main DV? Who participated?
3. A methods paragraph in which you mention each key variable in turn, followed by how it was operationalized. (e.g., “The study measured the variable self-compassion using a self-report questionnaire developed by Neff; it had 25 items that were rated on five-point scales.”)
4. A paragraph in which you describe the main results. If they used regression, you must describe the main relationship as well as what it was controlling for (e.g., “Self-compassion predicted well-being, even when controlling for self-esteem and emotionality”). If it was a factorial design, describe the main effects and interactions.
5. A short paragraph about the authors’ conclusions.
Turn in one document with both summaries; make sure to distinguish which summary belongs to which article with appropriate APA headings.

In order to create a successful sport programme for girls, leaders must first be aware of the challenges. Understanding potential obstacles leads to the development of positive, sustainable strategies. The most important step to understanding the obstacles girls in a specific region face is to go out in the community and ask parents and leaders their thoughts on girls playing sport. Below are the challenges faced by Women Win partner organisations and suggestions for how to design a programme that overcomes them.

Explain how society creates different conditions for men and women. Identify and explain at least two ways in which society is structured such that men and women are treated differently and explain why this treatment is just or unjust. What is a potential feminist ethical response to this situation and which of the thinkers from the week relate to your justification for the response?
How Society Creates Different Conditions for Men and Women
The society has created a culture where men and women are brought up to think, act and behave in a certain way. According to (Hurst, Fitz Gibbon & Nurse, 2017) cultures expect different behaviors and attitudes from the members of each sex. The authors points that the categorization of gender based on sex has created roles that have shaped the positions that individuals from the different gender can take in the society (p. 141). This has created gender stereotypes, which have been embedded in the labour market and organizational structures. These stereotypical categorizations serve to maintain status, occupational and job differences between men and women. Owing to this early expectation, women and men are supposed to be treated differently by the society.
The impact of categorization has seen the society set a standard for men and women through the media in advertisements, commercial and television shows, among others. Many of the television shows that people watch depict women as cooks, homemakers, while men are viewed as family providers. This categorization extends to the organizational structures, where even in situations that men and women work; women are still viewed as homemakers. Women are seen as people, who should cook, take care of children, run household errands and still perform their corporate duties.
Ways in Which Society Is Structured Such That Men and Women Are Treated Differently The society is structured differently and among
The women’s movement of the 1960s was part of a long effort by women fighting for equality since the late 1700s and continuing through today. The women’s movement is now more correctly envisioned as a “gender movement.” Describe what a “gender movement” is and explain how that differs from a “women’s movement.” If you were put in charge of the gender movement today, what would be the top three issues you would focus on and why?
The history of mankind is full of activities that promote inequalities in terms of access to jobs, positions in the society and freedom of expression (Horn, 2013). Some societies have created social beliefs that promote other gender to the detriment of the other. While the differences between the male and female gender is an unusual occurrence in the world, many movements have been developed to stop such discriminations and create equity in the society. Initially, the movement started as “women movement” but has now been developed into a broader movement termed the “gender movement”.
The gender movement is different from women movement since the later is only targeted at advancing the interests of women. They are not concerned at the interests of the other gender at all and even their actions are at times directed at fighting the other gender. In contrast, gender movement is directed towards fighting for the interests of all gender types. All the acts and rules of gender movement are formulated while keeping in mind the interests of bond gender. If I was put in charge of gender movement today, my main focus would be the social injustice among the lower class, child labor and increasing access to education among all people in the society. There remains huge gap between the rich and the poor; therefore, focusing on improving education, fighting child labor and fighting all form…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

This week you read about the different stages and types of relationships (dating, hooking up, cohabitating, and marriage). Wrap up this week by sharing your thoughts on the future of “relationships”? For example, do you think people will continue to search for their soulmate or will marriage become a thing of the past? Is technology making it easier or more difficult for people to maintain healthy relationships? What theory made the most sense to you and why? (Those are just some ideas to get you started. Please feel free to answer those questions and/or share your own take-away.)
